Good morning, and thanks for your continued support of Extra Points.

As you can probably imagine, trying to wrap my head around USC and UCLA's shocking decision to bolt for the Big Ten is a challenge. There are so many things to consider, from future media rights, to downstream conference realignment, to massive logistical, academic and structural changes.

One of the big questions comes down to simple geography. I may have graduated with a C+ from Ohio State, but I know enough to know that USC and UCLA are really far away from almost everybody in the Big Ten. Even if the LA schools are able to charter nearly everything with that new Big Ten money, that means plenty of athletes are going to face plenty of long flights, as well as some bus rides, in the near future.

What do athletes actually think about that?

One recently published study attempted to answer that exact question.
