The Revenue 'Arms Race'

Matt, thanks for the opportunity to share thoughts and questions with you. I'm starting to hear talk amongst some seasoned college Presidents and AD's that the P4 athletic departments are in the early phases of an revenue arms race that cannot be sustained. Gordon Gee was recently on with Karen Weaver saying exactly this statement. How long do you see the escalation of athletic budgets balloon at their current rates? And do you think there would be warning signs of a downturn?

I agree with the group of doctors! Sponsoring energy drinks with that kind of impact on the rising generation can influence many to consume them before they should, which could cause immediate health concerns or lifelong dependence on these products. While not as blatently harmful as other products schools do not allow partnership with, I feel that is is still the same principle as the other prohibited products.
