Here's what I'm hearing about mid-major conference realignment right now:

Quick editor's note: this newsletter was pre-written on Friday, July 22nd. I am still on vacation in the middle of nowhere Illinois. I will return to Extra Points HQ on Wednesday afternoon...so if I haven't answered your email or DM, it isn't because I don't care. It's because my WiFi sucks and I'm 340 miles from my laptop.

Obviously, USC and UCLA's decision to leave the Pac-12 for the Big Ten was a massive conference realignment story. The ripple effects from the Texas/Oklahoma to the SEC decision last year were ultimately felt, on some level, all over the country at the G5, FCS and I-AAA level. It's reasonable to believe that there could be a similar ripple effect from USC and UCLA, although exactly what or where those downstream effects will happen isn't clear yet.

But not every conference realignment conversation is directly related to the Pac-12 and Big 12 right now. Plenty of realignment conversations from the last cycle are continuing again as the calendar creeps closer to the fall. Here's what I've been hearing over the last few weeks:
