Fresno State is about to host the exclusively Spanish-language television broadcast. Here's why:

Good morning, and thanks for your continued support of Extra Points.

By Mid August, the specific kickoff times and broadcast partners for early-season college football games are starting to be released. Most of those games are going to be played on the ESPN family of networks (or streaming partners), FOX, CBS, or NBC.

But on Tuesday night, I saw a game broadcast update unlike anything else I’ve ever seen before. On September 9, the Fresno State Bulldogs will host Eastern Washington at 6 PM PST. If you can’t make the game, you can watch it on UniMás.

Fresno State believes this will be the first FBS football game to be exclusively broadcast on a Spanish-Language network.

I caught up with Fresno State Senior Associate AD Frank Pucher to better understand how this came together, and why.
