Good morning, and thanks for spending part of your day with Extra Points.
I’m excited to share some big news with all of you. We’re introducing a new product, specifically built around supporting professors and students.Â
Extra Points Classroom

We’ve been very fortunate that over the last five years, dozens of college professors and universities have reached out, asking to use Extra Points as a supplement for their curriculum. We’ve been supporting many of those schools on an ad hoc basis, but we haven’t really had a unified college classroom product since we re-launched as an independent company in 2024.Â
That hasn’t stopped us from being a part of classrooms. We’re currently working with over a dozen institutions in some capacity, including Ohio State, Michigan, South Carolina, Florida, to smaller schools, like Utah Tech, Kutztown and Minnesota State. With our new product, we hope to make life easier for our existing partners, and reach other classrooms as well.Â
Here’s what is included in an Extra Points Classroom license:
Access to the NEW AND IMPROVED Athletic Director Simulator 4000. We’ve been in the lab, trying to implement many of the quality-of-life features that professors and regular fans have been asking for. We’ve added the ability to save your game, for professors to have school-specific score leaderboards, and added and rebalanced over a dozen new scenarios across low, mid, and high major programs. It’s the best version of Athletic Director Simulator yet!
Part of the improvement process for ADS4000 was to move all of our data to a new database, which means that if you previously played ADS4000, you will need to create a new log-in to play it now. The game will save automatically between questions and auto-log you in when you come back.
Premium subscriptions to the Extra Points newsletter. That gets you all four newsletters a week, plus access to the thousands of other issues in our archives, like our College Sports Business 101.Â
Professor access to the Extra Points Library, our database of thousands of college sports contracts, athletic department budgets, conference affiliation agreements, and more.Â
Supplemental educational materials, from advice on how to integrate ADS4000 into a class, to discussion questions on major issues in college athletics, to case studies written by head coaches, sitting athletic directors, and other industry professionals.Â

Pricing varies from $30-$40 per student per semester, depending on the size of the class. We can also bundle Extra Points Classroom with athletic department purchases of Extra Points Library or the Extra Points Newsletter to create even larger discounts.
One thing I’ve learned about the Sports Management world since I started Extra Point is that instructors are often under a lot of pressure. Faculty may be responsible for teaching multiple classes, securing internship opportunities, conducting their own research and serving their university community.Â
Since college sports changes so dang frequently, textbooks can become quickly outdated, but creating original resources is time-intensive.Â
Our hope is that this package saves professors time, while also giving students access to accessible and practical information about the business of college athletics.Â
We want to help students get the information they need, in a format they’ll actually read. That’s our goal.
Our expanded professor resources will also feature lessons from current athletic directors and head coaches across various sports — meaning the material comes straight from industry professionals to your classroom.

Some of these resources will go beyond a simple outline, offering not only reading materials, homework ideas, and key background information, but also ready-to-use presentations to bring the content to life.
In addition to updated resources throughout the semester, we’ll have lessons on topics ranging from revenue sharing, NIL, and contest scheduling to private equity and fundraising in sport. Take a look at a screenshot from a lesson provided by Dr. Jared Sumsion, Utah Valley’s Athletic Director, on hiring and firing coaches.

I’m also happy to speak to as many classes as possible, even if (sssh, don’t tell my sales department this next part), you don’t end up paying for Extra Points Classroom. I want to be as helpful as possible and am happy to make time to chat with students.Â
